Cox Charities awards $180,000 in grants to support local non-profits

Cox Charities has awarded a total of $180,000 in grants to 22 California nonprofit organizations that are meeting the needs of our community to support youth, education, conservation, or the military. Cox Charities, one of Cox Communications’ giving programs that is funded by employee donations and a company match, has been serving California communities since 1999.

OC Made Small Business Saturday

OC MADE is a program presented by the CSUF SBDC in partnership with the Original OC Swap Meet, aimed at assisting start-up product-based businesses with entering the marketplace to validate their concepts. Participants will learn core concepts to create a successful business.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley (BGCCV) is looking for part-time staff at all three of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley branches (San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Aliso Viejo), mainly for the after school hours. There is a $250 signing bonus, $100 will be given at the time of hire and $150 will be given at 90-days of employment.

Currently, all three branches have waitlists. Having more staff translates into serving more youth!

It's National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day!

Today we celebrate the dedication of chambers of commerce nationwide to strengthening their local business communities and the economy.

According to an article published by the U.S. Chamber:

"Over the course of the last year, local chambers, with support from the U.S. Chamber, led the way in helping small businesses safely reopen and put them on a path to recover from the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic."

We are thankful for our members and we look forward to future work in our business community and the opportunity to facilitate growth in Rancho Santa Margarita and surrounding areas.

Grand Re-Opening RSM Library

Renovations are complete at the Rancho Santa Margarita Branch of the Orange County Public Library. The library will reopen on Wednesday, October 20, 2021!

Every year Southern California Edison awards $40,000 scholarships to 30 high school seniors who want to make a difference in the world by studying science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) in college.

Application period: Now – Dec. 13, 2021

***Applicant requirements:

Students must live in Southern California Edison’s service territory

Must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need

Plan to pursue studies in eligible STEM fields at a four-year accredited college or university

Top 50 finalists will be required to submit a short video and potentially participate in a final interview
